Call for Tutorial Proposals

Bedir Tekinerdogan, Bilkent University, Turkey, SPLC 2013 Tutorial Chair

Tutorials provide a valuable opportunity for conference participants to enhance their knowledge of and skills in different aspects of software product lines. Tutorials at SPLC can focus on the introduction of different concepts in Software Product Lines (SPL) to more advanced and/or focused topics.

In particular tutorials are solicited that focus on the practical aspects of SPL, tools, processes in industry, metrics in SPL, and on in-depth discussions of advanced SPLE topics.

Tutorials will be held during the conference week in full-day or half-day sessions. A tutorial proposal should consist approximately of two pages describing the topic, the plan for conducting the tutorial, and the backgrounds of the presenters and the tutorial.

  • The Topic section should include the title, goals, and intended audience of the tutorial (practical vs. academic; beginners vs. advances).
  • The Plan section should include a preliminary schedule and format of the proposed tutorial (half-day/full-day), topics covered, justification for the proposed topic/area with regards to SPL. If the topic is being proposed first time, sample material or notes would be good to have.
  • The Presenters' Backgrounds section should include relevant biographical information and summaries of the presenters' technical, presentation, and tutorial experience.
  • The Tutorial Background section should include a description of where and when the tutorial has been offered previously and any evaluations that were done.

A one-page description of all accepted tutorials will be published in the conference proceedings.
