Citizens from certain countries are required to obtain a visa in order to enter Brazil.

Visa Information

If you need a support letter for obtaining your visa, we ask you to please register at (http://www.splc2012.net/Registration.html) and send a request email to Hugo Andrade (hugosica [at] dcc [dot] ufba [dot] br) with the following information::

    - Full name

    - Citizenship

    - Occupation


Once your registration is completed and confirmed, we will provide you with a signed visa support letter. If your visa is denied, you can send us a confirmation and request a refund, upon proof of visa refusal.


US Citizens


Brazil requires U.S. citizens to carry a valid U.S. passport and visa when traveling to Brazil for any purpose. You need to obtain a tourist visa prior to attending SPLC.

Citizens from other countries  


Citizens from most countries in the European Union and South America are exempted from obtaining a visa to enter Brazil. Please check the table below and contact a local brazilian consulate if you are required to obtain a visa.


If you are exempted, please be sure that your passport is valid for more than 6 months. All exemptions are valid for a stay up to 90 days, except for Venezuelan passport holders. Also, check if you need a Yellow Fever ICV (International Certificate of Vaccination) here.
